Work with EAR

Who we serve

We engage with a broad range of people building, organizing, and working in public interest internet technology. We also engage with people who want to contribute but aren’t sure how. To that end…

We primarily engage with, support, and equip …

  • Technologists and knowledge workers including architects, designers, developers, subject-matter experts
  • Organization leaders and business owners
  • Community organizers

… so that they may better serve:

  • Everyday new and returning users
  • Trust and safety staff
  • Creators or “power users” such activists, artists, journalists, small businesses
  • Communities such as friends, family, movements, interest-groups, neighbors, etc.

This means that we conduct research with a diverse range of audiences, participants, and allies. Interested? Send us a message!.

What to expect

We respond to all relevant inquiries. If your inquiry matches up with our charter, an EAR member will schedule a time to meet and discuss your needs. In the meantime, we suggest you read our personal conduct and Research & innovation agreements.

During our discovery call we’ll ask you a series of questions about your goals, the challenges you’re facing, and how you might like to engage with EAR. After the call, we’ll share a follow up communication with a summary of our discussion and next steps, if appropriate.

Share an inquiry, challenge, or opportunity

We welcome research and event inquiries at [email address]. We will review each inquiry and respond usually within 2-4 weeks. Note: Inquiries are subject to availability, sponsorship, and alignment with EAR’s charter.
